Components of a methamphetamine lab were found in a vehicle during a traffic stop and a 54-year-old Kimball Township resident was arrested and lodged in the St. Clair County jail.

A search warrant later was served in the 1100 block of Varney Street. Meth lab components were seized at the residence.

A 51-year-old Port Huron man was arrested and lodged in the St. Clair County jail.

Both suspects are expected to be arraigned Sunday. They face possible charges of operating/maintaining a meth lab, conspiracy to manufacture/distribute meth, possession of meth, possession of meth manufacturing components, and felon in possession of ammunition.

The suspected meth operations remain under investigation.

Meth lab technicians from the St. Clair County Drug Task Force assisted in serving the search warrant and in the lab cleanup.

The arrests were part of a grant-funded program called Operation Neighborhood Take-Back. Reaves said the program is an effort to follow up on specific complaints in neighborhoods.
