Micromax introduces affordable octa-core processor sporting smartphone Canvas Xpress 2 at Rs 5,999

NEW DELHI: Micromax has launched its most affordable octa-core processor sporting smartphone the Canvas Xpress 2 at Rs 5,999. The phone will be selling exclusively on Flipkart and will be sold via the flash sale model.

The first sale is expected to take place on August 4 at 2PM, the registrations for which will start today at 6PM. The registrations for the first flash sale will end on August 3 at midnight.

The Micromax Canvas Xpress 2 comes with a 5-inch HD display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 for protection. It houses the MediaTek MT6592M SoC with a 1.4GHz octa-core processor which is paired with 1GB of RAM. On the storage front, you get 8GB of in-built storage with a provision to add on a 32GB microSD card. The phone will come with Android 4.4.2 KitKat OS which is upgradeable to Android 5.0 Lollipop.

The phone comes with a 13MP rear camera with an OmniVision sensor and dual-LED flash unit. This is complemented by a 2MP front-facing camera. The phone comes in a black colour rear and front along with golden coloured edges. It houses a 2,500mAh battery which according to Micromax will give you 9 hours of talk time and 393 hours of standby time.
