Micromax launches new smartphone  Canvas 5 at Rs.11,999

LONDON: Domestic handset-manufacturer Micromax on Wednesday launched a new smartphone – Canvas 5, priced at Rs.11,999.

“Micromax has always been a front-runner when it comes to breaking barriers with our innovative product offerings, and the success of our Canvas series is a testimony to this,” Vineet Taneja, chief executive, Micromax Informatics, said.

“With the launch of Canvas 5 around Diwali, we are introducing our newest Canvas flagship that will be game changer in the smartphone space targeting those who don’t want to compromise and are keen to experience the new levels of multi-tasking and superb performance,” he added.

The new device will come with a 3GB DDR3 RAM unit, 1.3 GHz octa-core processor, 2900 mAh marathon battery, 5.2-inch full HD display and a 13-megapixel rear camera.

Also, the dual-SIM smartphone will support 4G-LTE.
