The firm’s current flagship handset is by no means an underpowered beast, with a Snapdragon 615 chipset and 2GB of RAM under the bonnet. Reports have suggested that its successor will up the ante by embracing 64-bit technology. Regardless, the new Yu Yuphoria is sure to face some stiff competition. Xiaomi announced the Mi4i while Asus unveiled announced the ZenFone 2 two flagship smartphones that can surely have a go at YU Televentures unannounced device.

While Micromax itself isn’t disclosing any further information, the timing and the message make it all but a certainty that this May 12 event will host the unveiling of the next Yu smartphone launch.
