MUMBAI: Micromax announced that it will roll out the Android 5.0 Lollipop for YU Yureka from March 26 in India. Originally Micromax YU Yureka was launched with Android 4.4 KitKat will now turn into Lollipop.
Various OEMs have released the software update or at least promised to, but many of us are still using an ‘old’ Android version. But it seems that you are in luck if you have bought one of the devices from Micromax’s YU Yureka division.
The Indian company has teased an Android Lollipop update coming to its Yureka handset on its Facebook page, as you can see in the above image. The image shows a small join-the-dots puzzle, with a tagline ‘Coming Soon to a Yureka near you’. It’s quite easy to understand that, by following the dots, you will get a spiral lollipop, which, as we all know, is the logo for Android 5.0.
The last dot ends at no. 26, which could mean that YU Yureka is set to start rolling out the Lollipop update on the 26th of March. It makes sense since it is the current month and the dots are arranged in a consecutive order. And, after all, ‘soon’ is definitely not 26th of April. The smartphone originally launched running Android 4.4 KitKat with Cyanogen OS 11 on top of Google’s operating system, and now the same will happen with Android Lollipop.
As a reminder, the TU Yureka smartphone has the following specs from below, which are pretty impressive, considering it retails at a price of only around Rs. 8,999 in India (approximately $144)
