REDMOND: Microsoft acquires iOS, Android Acompli, maker of email applications to boost office 365, as it continues its quest for cross platform dominance.
Microsoft coughed up more than $200m for Acompli, an app which has long been praised for its Microsoft exchange support and similarities to Microsoft’s own Outlook service. Microsoft adding Acompli to its acquisition pile to enhance its mobile offerings.
Microsoft Corporate vice president of Outlook, and Office 365 Rajesh Jha, said that this achievement is part of our company wide effort to help people accomplish more with their mobile devices.
Company is excited about possible as we build on the app’s success and bring it together with work currently in progress by the Outlook team.
CEO and co founder of Acompli, Javier Soltero, said that over the next few months, we will be sharing more about the exciting product plans we have as Acompli becomes a part of Microsoft.
