NEW YORK: Microsoft just recently launched the Lumia 830 Gold variant. The already gorgeous Lumia now looks even more beautiful in this variant wrapped around with an anodised gold frame constructed out of aluminium.

The gold theme has been trending in mobile phone designs for quite some time now and the Microsoft Lumia 830 jumped in on it as well. Engadget reports that the decision to create this variant is a bit late to join the mobile phone gold trend but the look of the Lumia 830 Gold sporting discreet gold accents is still great.

Aside from the Microsoft Lumia 830, the Lumia 930 also received the gold treatment and was released at the same time as the 830. According to a post from gadgets.ndtv, the gold variants of the Lumia 830 and 930 will be available in the following regions: Europe, Asia Pacific, Midle East, Africa, and China. The Lumia 930 will not be available in India, only the Lumia 830 will reach their stores. Both the Lumia 830 Gold and Lumia 930 Gold will only be available in Black and White colour variants.

The Lumia 830 Gold variant, while being based on the Windows Phone 8.1, has the following specifications: 5-inch High Definition LCD display, 1.2GHZ quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor, 1GB RAM, 10-megapixel camera with flash, 1-megapixel front facing camera, and a 16GB internal memory that is expandable via microSD to support up to 128GB. The technical specifications of this variant is the same as the original. The only thing that sets it apart is the differently coloured frame.

The Gold Variants of Lumia 830 and Lumia 930 are currently the top models available under the Nokia logo. Yes, they still have the Nokia badge (also in gold) at their backs. According to an article by TheVerge however, this most probably the last time that Microsoft will release a mobile phone with the Nokia brand.
