NEW YORK: Microsoft is focusing to make Windows 10 the perfect operating system for every user around the world. As Microsoft’s Windows OS is a globally available product, it should support all languages. However, the current scenario lacks in delivering them.
Microsoft is going to introduce an Universal Shaping Engine in Windows 10 that will increase the language support and millions of users around the globe will be benefitted. Let’s see how Redmond’s software giant is going to achieve this goal.
A shaping engine in the OS enables scripts with contextual and non linear typographic requirements to be displayed on the computer screen. Currently, there is no shaping engine, due to which half of the languages are not supported by the current version of Windows. People have found another way to tackle this kind of problem by installing various fonts and using different keyboards. But the script thing is still not looking right due to lack of shaping engine.
