Minister denounces politics on relief package for farmers

LAHORE: Denouncing the opposition’s stance on relief package for farmers, announced by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Provincial Minister for Agriculture Dr Farrukh Javed has said that politics on the agricultural package is a shameful act.

The minister said this during a meeting with representatives of farmers’ organisations. He said the govt was working day and night for development of the agriculture sector and ongoing welfare projects of farmers and growers. Criticism against the package for political gimmick will cause a serious loss to farmers and growers, he added.

He said imposition of ban on important parts of farmer package will increase financial problems. He said prosperity of farmers was essential for better economy and criticism against package from some political parties would increase financial problems of farmers. Farrukh Javed said only solution to farmers problems was in rapid implementation of the package.
