TOKYO: MITSUBISHI is expected to stretch out the current Pajero until at least 2017, but the 2016 Mitsubishi Pajero has just copped a minor running change in that it debuts the Japanese car maker’s new smartphone infotainment unit. Pricing is unchanged across the Pajero range despite this change – a new paint colour Terra Rosso is also available.
Mitsubishi’s Smartphone Link Display Audio (SDA) system for both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay will be introduced across all Pajero variants and rolled out on future models in the months ahead.
On sale from today, the 2016 Pajero will also feature Digital Audio Broadcast (DAB) radio as standard across the range and a new Terra Rossa premium paint colour.
According to Mitsubishi, “SDA allows users of either Android smartphones or iPhones to connect to the Pajero’s seven-inch built-in touch screen using a USB cable. The system is designed to allow the driver, either by using the touchscreen, voice control or steering wheel controls, to safely and simply: access navigation and other compatible apps on their smartphone; make and receive phone calls; send and receive text messages; listen to or stream music, and; The SDA system also eliminates the need for regular map updates to the car’s navigation system by retrieving the latest information from the smartphone”.
