Mobile phone imports increase by 3.23% to $224.594m in first 4 months of FY 14-15

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) has reported that the imports of mobile phones increased by 3.23 per cent to $224.594 million during the first four months (July-October) of current fiscal year as compared with the $217.568m of the same period last year.

In October, the figure stood at $58.596m, a fall of 3.37pc when compared with the same month of last year, but a rise of 15.26pc over September 2014. The imports cost $60.641m in October 2013 and $50.839m in September 2014.

Similarly, the overall telecom imports also increased by 25.37pc to $524.81 million during the period under review. The telecom imports during October 2014 increased by 9.16pc and decreased by 7.53pc compared to October 2013 and September 2014, respectively.

Overall telecom imports during October 2014 stood at $117.99m against the imports of $108.087m in the same month last year and $127.601m in Sept 2014.
