Modern system operational at MDPT for speedy clearance of export consignments

MULTAN: A modern system of customs clearance was made operational at Multan Dry Port on Thursday for speedy clearance of export consignments from Multan to foreign markets.

Chairman, Multan Dry Port Trust (MDPT) Khawaja Muhammad Faazil that “We Boc” was the new system installed at the dry port that would not only ensure speedy clearance of export consignments but would also ensure payment of rebate to the exporters without any delay.“The developments brings the facilities at Multan dry port at par with facilities at Karachi port,” Khawaja said.

Export consignments were being cleared for last many years under an old I-Custom system that often encountered problems. MDPT chairman said that this system would be made operational at Muzaffargarh terminal within next two days and Sadiqabad terminal after 20 days.MDPT official Col. ® Muhammad Awais, leading importers and exporters and senior Customs officials attended the ceremony.
