Modern techniques in cultivation of crops is need of hour

JAND: District Officer (Water Management) Attock Muhammad Iqbal Chohan has said that agricultural land across the Attock district is fertilizer but farmers are not exploiting it because of lack of interest in innovative methods and cultivation of new crops.

He said this while talking to APP here on Thursday. On the occasion Deputy Agriculture Officer Abdul Ghafoor and Chaudhry Rehmat were also present.

District Officer Iqbal Chohan said that it is need of the hour to adopt modern techniques in cultivation of new crops for which the agriculture department extending full cooperation and financial assistance to farmers for their development and prosperity.

He said that across the Attock district all necessary arrangements have been made to irrigate an area of 1,800 acres land.

He said that on this land farmers are cultivating grapes, olive, citrus, vegetables and fruits which is not only meeting the needs of the local area people but are also being sent to other cities for the prosperity of farmers.

The district officer Water Management said that to create awareness among farmers regarding new agricultural methods, seminars are being arranged in different areas of the Attock district.
