Montgomery area chamber of commerce hosts its 8th diversity Summit

MONTGOMERY:The Montgomery Area Chamber of Commerce hosted its 8th annual Diversity Summit. The focus this year was on helping organizations make diversity and inclusion a strategic priority for businesses.Speakers discussed how inclusion can help grow business. Presenters said diversity creates greater degrees of innovation. They said an important skill set to have in any business is the ability to respectfully disagree.

It wasn’t just focused on business growth, but helping those in attendance grow both professionally and personally. Organizers say diversity is important in any community, but especially Montgomery.”This is a community that has embraced, historically, diversity and inclusion and it’s done a fantastic job with that,” said Montgomery Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors Chairman Russell Tyner.

“The demographic in Montgomery is changing rapidly and our business climate is changing rapidly, and really the political climate is changing rapidly. It’s really important for us to find a way to have great success together,” added Eddie Stivers  who sponsored the summit.
