WARSAW: The Moody’s rating agency could be shortly looking at changing the economic outlook of Poland, said Polish Deputy Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki. Asked by journalists about the upcoming decision by Moody’s, which on 9 September is scheduled to release a new report about Poland, Morawiecki said: “The report [released in May] gave a Negative outlook, they have now issued a warning, so probably the agency will want to carry out a change [in rating], although I do not know this for sure.”
In May, Moody’s – one of the Big Three rating agencies – said that the key drivers for the drop were fiscal risks “related to a substantial increase in current expenditures”, and “Impairments to the investment climate from a shift towards more unpredictable policies and legislations”.
