HONG KONG: Sky gazers will be able to feast their eyes on a rare celestial occurring before dawn this weekend as three planets will make an appearance in conjunction with an attractive waning crescent Moon.
According to astronomers, Venus, Mars, Jupiter and the Moon will appear to sky gazers into a relatively small area in the predawn sky. Anyone with an unobstructed view of the southeast sky will be able to watch this foursome in a single glance.
The Moon will be aligned with the glittering Venus, which is also called by many ‘evening star’ or ‘morning star’. Mars – the Red Planet – will be somewhat dimmer.
The Red Planet will be shining above the brilliant Moon and Venus. The pumpkin-colored Mars will be shining with just 1/250th of Venus’ intensity.
Sky-gazers will also be able to see brilliant Jupiter in the southeastern sky. Jupiter, the biggest planet in out solar system, will be sitting just to the left and somewhat above the Moon. Jupiter and the Moon will just around 3 degrees apart from each other.
Changing positions of the planets also entice astrologers who claim the Sun, Moon and planets can have a decisive effect on the destinies of individuals as well as nations on the Earth.
