GEORGIA:Atlanta-based Mori Luggage & Gifts, which has three locations in Cobb County, named John Mori the CEO of the company. He will succeed his father, Jean Mori, who founded the company in October 1971 and will remain involved in the business as chairman of the Board.
John Mori joined the company in October 1989 as area manager of stores and advertising director. After 10 years working in every facet of the business, he was named president of the company in 1999. Since then, he has continued to lead the company’s growth by overseeing all operational areas including merchandising, marketing and store expansion into new markets.
“John’s 26-year history at Mori Luggage and Gifts, his education, knowledge of the travel goods industry, personal capabilities, energy and strong enthusiasm for our company’s concepts all qualify him extremely well to be our CEO,” said his father, Jean.John is a graduate of Wake Forest University and received his MBA from Goizueta Business School at Emory University.
He is active in the community serving on the Georgia Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, the Dean’s Council at Emory’s Rollins School of Public Health, Atlanta Rotary Club, Peachtree Road United Methodist Church Finance Committee and the World Presidents’ Organization.He is also a past president and current executive committee member of the National Luggage Dealers Association.
