MOSCOW: President of the Moscow Chamber of Commerce Michael Kuzovlev and vice president of the Chamber of Commerce of Istanbul Gokhan Murat Kalsin signed a cooperation agreement. The ceremony was held during the visit of the delegation headed by Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin to Turkey.
MCCI and Istanbul Chamber of Commerce give importance to the development of mutually beneficial cooperation in economic, commercial and investment fields, and will actively promote the expansion of existing business ties and establish new contacts between entrepreneurs in Moscow and Istanbul.
President of the Moscow Chamber of Commerce Michael Kuzovlev said: “Our countries have made a significant progress in development of trade and economic cooperation recently. Yesterday, the mayors of Moscow and Istanbul signed the cooperation program between the cities until 2017. Agreement that we have signed today is a logical continuation of this programme, as it is aimed at intensifying business relations between entrepreneurs of our cities”.
The meeting was also attended by Vice-President of the MCCI Suren Vardanyan and Secretary General of the Chamber of Commerce of Istanbul Omer Bal.
Chambers’ leaders exchanged experience in support of entrepreneurship, discussed cooperation of chambers in various industries: machine building and textile industries, agriculture and tourism. They agreed on organization of business missions and mutual consulting.
The delegation of the Moscow Government led by Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin visited Turkey as well. The program of the visit included the talks with the mayors of Ankara and Istanbul, as well as Turkish businessmen. The main topic of the talks was to promote cooperation between Moscow and major Turkish cities, expanding the supply of food products to Moscow and attraction of investment.
