PARIS: Motorola makes its#ShortestPressAnnouncementEver to launch the Moto X Force. It should be noted that the Force is just the international name given to the recently announced Moto Droid Turbo 2.

Motorola’s new device will be coming to the UK, and also to Latin America, EMEA, and APAC regions in November. The device’s UK page lists 4G support for India, so we can expect the device reach the Indian shores too. It seems quite unlikely that the device will make it before the festive season.

The company has put up a less than a minute video showing how the Force X will compete with Apple and Samsung devices when it come to durability and build. While some of the leading devices from both other companies end up with a cracked display when dropped on what looks like a slab of cement or rock, the Moto X Force display survives to tell the tale. The USP of the device is the ShatterShield technology. The glass-free 5-layer construction safeguards it from usual knocks and bumps. It also gets water resistant nano-coating.

At its thinnest, the device measures 7.6mm and sports a 5.4-inch AMOLED QHD display. Under the hood, it gets a Snapdragon 810 octa-core processor, 3GB RAM and Adreno 430 GPU. The company has put some thought in the battery too. It’s not just whopping 3,760 battery that promises about two days of power, but also both supports Qi and PMA wireless charging. The Moto X Force will be made available in 32GB or 64GB storage, but both come with microSD card slot up to 2TB.

On the camera front, it gets a 21MP camera with f/2.0 aperture, autofocus, dual LED flash, HDR and 4K video recording. It comes with a 5MP front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture and also promises good low light performance and a front-facing flash. It also faces a front loudspeaker along with five mics for advanced noise cancellation. Motorola gives fingerprint sensor a miss, but does come with NFC support.

The device runs Android 5.1.1 Lollipop, and Motorola should most probably add Marshmallow update soon.
