NEW YORK: Motorola has announced that the company is offering discounts on Phones from Feb. 2 to register for a Motorola promo code for $140 off a $500 purchase, or $50 off on $250.
Registration begins at 11 a.m. Central (noon Eastern) on Monday, and ends at 11:59 p.m. CT (12.59 a.m. ET)—or whenever Motorola runs out of its supply.
Applicable only to customers with a U.S. shipping address, the offer is limited to two devices; choose wisely from the second-gen Moto X and Moto G (pictured), first-generation Moto G 4G LTE, Moto E, and Moto 360 smartwatch
Products in users’ cart must total $499.99 or $249.99 before sales tax to receive the $140 or $50 discount, respectively. Remember to apply the code to the order at checkout.
Unfortunately, the deal does not apply to the Nexus 6, Moto X on Republic Wireless, Moto Accident Protection, or any current sale items.
If users aren’t one of the lucky 200,000 to receive an early-bird deal, don’t fret: The Valentine’s Day promotion runs from Feb. 3 to 14, and Motorola promises $100 off $499.99 or $35 off $249.99 purchases, no code necessary.
“Because we have limited quantities, we’re using a registration process to save purchasers’ ‘spots,'” the Motorola FAQ page said. “This gives more people a fair chance of getting a discount. It also means you don’t have to place your order immediately.”
Consumers have until 10:59 p.m. CT (11:59 p.m. ET) on Feb. 14 to use the code.
“So you can come back when convenient,” the company said.
If fans have purchased one of the applicable smartphones online at full price (exceeding $250/$500) in the last two weeks, they can stop kicking themselves: Motorola will refund the difference if they receive a code.
As long as the non-discounted purchase was delivered on Jan. 19 or later (Jan. 2 in California), call the phone maker for an appropriate reimbursement.
