NEW YORK: Motorola in October last year announced that it would be updating a handful of its devices to Android 5.0 Lollipop, but the latest update will be pushed to 2013 devices as well.

Luciano Carvalho, a software engineer at Motorola, posted in a note on Google+ that the updates for 2013 and 2014 devices are coming “really soon.” He also explained why it is taking so long.

“Updates of this nature take time. It’s no secret that when 5.0 launched it still had bugs. And, when we update our products, we end up finding more bugs that need to be fixed,” he wrote.

“When Google creates a new release, they don’t validate it for all the possible combinations there are, and they won’t fix anything that’s not reproducible on a Nexus device, that’s our job,” he added.

Unfortunately, from Carvalho’s note, a specific time-frame is not apparent other than arriving “soon,” so users need to be more patient. However hope is a good thing.
