NEW YORK: This is the incredible moment Mount Etna erupted its glowing lava into the night sky.
The remarkable footage was captured on yesterday evening as the volcano in Sicily sent an orange stream of red-hot lava into the air.
The iconic landmark is the most active volcano in Europe and has regular low-level eruptions.
However, it’s lava flows rarely reach the city of Catania below.
The Italian volcano has been active for almost 2,000 years – the last time one of its eruptions was in 1993 when lava had to be diverted away from the nearby town of Zafferana.
