SEOUL: South Korea is offering the Mozambican government a loan of US$5 million to acquire 21 fire engines and 50 ambulances, the local media report here Thursday.
To this end, the Mozambican Deputy Foreign Minister, Nyeleti Mondlane, and the South Korean ambassador, Hee Yoon Kang, signed two memoranda of understanding in Maputo on Thursday.
Mondlane said the projects to supply fire-fighting equipment and ambulances are valued at US$5 million in the form of a soft loan and it represents a valuable contribution by the government of Korea to the efforts of the Mozambican government to improve the living conditions of the people, by minimizing the loss of human lives.
She added that a further memorandum has been initiated on the mutual exemption from entry visas for the bearers of diplomatic and service passports from the two countries.
