MUSCAT: Oman’s MSM30 Index raised 0.16 percent to close at 6,232.77 points and MSM Shariah Index dropped 0.05 percent to close at 977.17 points.
Al Anwar Holding was the most active in terms of volume, while Bank Muscat was the most active in terms of turnover. The top gainer was Al Anwar Holding, up by 4.84 per cent, while Al Izz Islamic Bank, down by 3.41 per cent, was the top loser.
As many as 1,516 trades were executed in the session generating a turnover of OMR6.79 million with more than 20.57 million shares changing hands. Out of 48 traded securities, 20 advanced, 13 declined and 15 remained unchanged. At the close of the session, Omani investors remained net buyers to the tune of OMR1.66 million worth of shares, followed by GCC & Arab Investors at OMR381,000. Foreign investors sold stocks amounting to OMR2.05 million.
Financial Index closed at 7,583.23 points, up by 0.37 per cent. Al Anwar Holding, Al Madina Investments, Gulf Investment Services, Al Sharqia Investment and Oman & Emirates Holding increased by 4.84 per cent, 3.17 per cent, 2.07 per cent, 1.91 per cent and 1.63 per cent respectively. Al Izz Islamic Bank, Oman United Insurance, United Finance, Bank Dhofar and Ominvest declined 3.41 per cent, 3.13 per cent, 0.68 per cent, 0.57 per cent and 0.43 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index gained 0.28 per cent to end the day at 8,400.21 points. Al Jazeera Steel, Al Hassan Engineering, Oman Fisheries, Gulf International Chemicals and Galfar Engineering increased 3.97 per cent, 2.52 per cent, 1.56 per cent, 1.15 per cent and 0.69 per cent respectively. Voltamp Energy and Oman Cements decreased 2.94 per cent and 0.39 per cent respectively.
Services Sector Index closed on a flat note at 3,460.09 points, up by 0.01 per cent. Oman National Engineering, National Gas, OIFC and Ooredoo increased 3.31 per cent, 2.79 per cent, 2.43 per cent and 1.16 per cent respectively. Port Services, Renaissance Services, Al Jazeera Services, Al Batinah Power and Omantel decreased 1.68 per cent, 1.55 per cent, 1.18 per cent, 0.56 per cent and 0.29 per cent respectively.
