LONDON: MSU professor has recently discovered a 79 million years old species of duckbilled dinosaur which possibly could fill the revolutionary gap.
A recently discovery by an adjunct professor at Montana State University fills an evolutionary gap, according to a paper published in the journal PLOS ONE. As per researchers, the new species of dinosaurs shows the evolutionary transition from an earlier duckbilled species to their descendants.
The paper stated that the findings made by the team highlights how clearly the new species of duckbilled dinosaur fills a gap that had existed between an ancestral form which had no crest and a descendant which had a larger crest.
The findings provide a deep insight into the evolution of elaborate display structures among these extremely huge extinct herbivores. “It is confirmation that Dr. Freedman Fowler is an excellent paleontologist, helping further cement MSU’s reputation for offering graduate students a chance to be part of something extraordinary”, said MSU paleontologist Jack Horner.
