MULTAN: Muhammad Farrukh Sharif has officially assumed his duties as the Collector Customs Collectorate Enforcement in Multan, succeeding Collector Syed Muhammad Imran Sajjad Bukhari following a recent FBR-ordered transfer.
The transfer saw Sharif take on significant responsibilities within the Multan Customs Enforcement, overseeing the region’s compliance with customs regulations and enhancing anti-smuggling efforts. His appointment aligns with the Federal Board of Revenue’s (FBR) strategic rotation of senior customs officials aimed at strengthening operational efficiencies across Pakistan.
The transition, however, came under unique circumstances. Due to the immediate transfer order, outgoing Collector Syed Muhammad Imran Sajjad Bukhari was unable to receive the customary farewell typically accorded to senior officials. Sources within MCC Multan noted that Bukhari’s departure was abrupt, limiting the opportunity for an official farewell ceremony as he relinquished his charge to meet the FBR’s directives.
Muhammad Farrukh Sharif brings to his new role extensive experience in customs enforcement and a proven track record in managing regulatory compliance. Customs officials in Multan expressed optimism regarding his leadership, noting that Sharif’s appointment is expected to enhance the region’s capacity to manage enforcement and curb smuggling activities effectively.
With Sharif at the helm, MCC Enforcement Multan anticipates bolstered efficiency in customs operations, aligning with FBR’s broader mission to secure national revenue through robust enforcement and transparency.
