Mukarram Jah Ansari posted as Member Customs Operations FBR

ISLAMABAD: Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has issued notification for transfer and posting of following officers of Pakistan Customs Service (PCS) with immediate effect and until further orders:-

1.            Syed Muhammad Tariq Huda BS-21 Member Customs Operations, Federal Board of Revenue is transferred and posted as Member, Federal Board of Revenue (Hq), Islamabad

2.            Mukarram Jah Ansari BS-21, Member, Federal Board of Revnue (Hq) Islamabad is transferred and posted as Member Customs Operations Federal Board of Revenue (Hq) Islamabad

Mukarram Jah Ansari is a senior officer of Pakistan Customs who served in various leading positions. He served as Collector of Customs Port Mohammad Bin Qasim in 2016. During his tenure at Port Qasim he adopted comprehensive strategy to curb smuggling in the jurisdiction. He adopted zero tolerance policy against smuggling.

On return from NMC in 2017 Mukarram Jah Ansari was posted as Chief Federal Board of Revenue (Headquarters).

Mukarram Jah Ansari also served as Director General (OPS), Directorate General of Reforms and Automation (Customs), Lahore and Collector of Customs Preventive Lahore.

During his tenure as Director General Customs Valuation Mukarram Jah Ansari worked hard for a big change in the valuation system in line with international best practices for appraisement would bring a good change and positive effect for industry and trade will take place.

He was of the view that a change in the valuation system would improve the tax collection while government, law enforcement agencies and the department are committed to root out the menace of smuggling. He also taken effective measures to curb under-invoicing.

He also served as Additional Secretary Board of Investment.
