Zulfiqar Younis becomes new collector Customs (Preventive) Lahore

LAHORE: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has transferred Mukarram Jah Ansari, formerly working as collector of Customs ( Preventive)  Lahore, to Collector of Model Customs Collectorate of Port Muhammad Bin Qasim, Karachi.
According to details, Zulfiqar Younus (Pakistan Customs Service/BS-20), who was serving as Director, Directorate of Training & Research (Customs), will replace Mukarram Jah at Model Customs Collectorate (Preventive), Lahore.
Mukarram Jah Ansari, who is currently on a week long tour to India to attend Customs Liaison Boarder Committee (CLBC) meeting in Amritsar India, has been transferred to Karachi.
Mukarram Jah Ansari has been considered very vibrant officer throughout his period as collector of Customs (Preventive) Lahore.He besides bringing about a number of reforms and development work to department also exceeded ambitious revenue targets during his service.
He also sustained intense pressure when he uncovered mega gold and foreign currency seizures at the Allama Iqbal International Airport Lahore.
On the other hand, he also conducted operations in the city markets and confiscated millions of rupees non-customs paid tyres from Bilal Ganj and electronic items from Abid Market.
These operations sent shock waves in the criminal circles engaged in smuggling activities, which proved major blow to smuggling in the city.
