Multan Adjudication decides 79 seizure cases worth Rs106.067m

MULTAN: Collectorate of Customs Adjudication Multan Camp Office decided 79 seizure cases worth Rs106.067 million during August 2019.

According to details, Deputy Collector has settled 20 seizure cases of worth Rs8.917 million during the month of August after the completion of proceedings of the cases in Customs Adjudication. As many as 35 fresh seizure cases of worth Rs18.515 million were added in the court of deputy collector Customs Adjudication for legal trial in the month of August.

Deputy Collector Customs Adjudication decided 19 seizure cases in favour of department and only one case was decided in favour of taxpayer in August after completion of hearing. There are 28 pending seizure cases of worth Rs 15.638 million available in the Customs Adjudication for final verdict after the completion of trial.

Additional Collector Talib Hussain decided 59 seizure cases worth Rs97.150 million during the period of August. Additional Collector Talib Hussain decided one seizure case in favour of taxpayer out of 59 after trial. These concluded seizure cases include non-customs paid vehicles and auto parts formed by Customs Intelligence and Investigation and Anti-Smuggling Organization in their different actions. Almost 61 seizure cases of worth Rs105.140 million added for trial in the court of Customs Adjudication throughout August.

Collector Adjudication Customs Dr. Muhammad Adnan Akram concluded hearing of eight seizure cases of worth Rs77.759 but they are still under adjudication. Customs Adjudication has included one seizure case of worth Rs.8 million during August.
