Multan Adjudication declares seizure of Honda Civic as legal

MULTAN: Collectorate of Customs Adjudication Additional Collector Talib Hussain has issued Order-in-Original No 464/2018 (ONO) by declaring seizure of Honda Civic car as legal.

According to details, Multan Customs staff of Anti-Smuggling Organization impounded a Honda Civic bearing registration number: 356/Islamabad model 2007 from Dera Ghazi Khan Region in their action. Customs anti-smuggling squad asked the driver to present legal documents of the said vehicle but he failed to provide any document regarding the possession of the vehicle.

The customs Anti-Smuggling Organization team seized the vehicle and forwarded the case to Customs Adjudication for further legal proceedings. Additional Collector Talib Hussain issued a show cause notice to the owner of the non-duty paid vehicle asking him to appear in person and explain his point of view.

Owner Muhammad Muzammil son of Naimatullah who was resident of Dera Ghazi Khan claimed the ownership of the vehicle after issuance of show cause notice by Customs Adjudication Multan Camp Office. He appeared before the Customs Adjudication and provided legal evidence of the vehicle but Anti-Smuggling Organization presented laboratory reports and vehicle’s registration record which proved that said vehicle was smuggled one and it was entered into the country through clandestine routes without paying any duty and taxes of Rs1.5 million.

After completion of the trial, Additional Customs Collector Adjudication Talib Hussain declared seizure of non-duty paid Honda Civic vehicle as lawful and issued order-in-original for confiscation of the said vehicle.
