Multan Adjudication finalizes 71 seizure cases worth Rs116.993m

MULTAN: Customs Adjudication has finalized 71 seizure cases worth Rs116.993 million during the month of May.

According to details, Deputy Collector Customs Adjudication has concluded the hearing of 13 seizure cases worth Rs9.700 million. These decided seizure cases involved cloth, auto parts, liquor and other goods.

Customs Intelligence and Investigation (I&I) and Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) formed these cases in their various actions in the jurisdiction. Deputy collector decided all seizure cases in favor of the department after concluding hearing. There were 15 new seizure cases worth Rs6.767 million added for trial in the month of May.

Additional Collector Customs Adjudication Talib Hussain has resolved 55 seizure cases worth Rs90.501 million during the month of May. Additional Collector settled seizure cases of smuggled vehicles and miscellaneous goods seized by Customs Intelligence and Investigation and Anti-Smuggling Organization. Almost 5 seizure cases were decided in favor of taxpayers after completion of their trial. As many as 24 new seizure cases worth Rs43.700 million added for trial in the Court of Additional Collector during the month of May.

Collector Customs Adjudication Dr. Muhammad Adnan Akram decided three various seizure cases worth Rs 16.792 million in May after proceedings. There were seven new fresh seizure cases added in the Customs Adjudication for hearing formed by Customs Intelligence and Anti-Smuggling Organization involving the revenue of Rs81.229 million throughout the month of May in ongoing fiscal year 2018-19.

Customs Adjudication Multan Camp office has almost 89 various pending seizure cases of Rs297.845 million for their legal proceedings due to unnecessary delay from respondents.
