Multan Adjudication issues notice to woman involved in gold and currency smuggling

MULTAN: Collector Customs Adjudication has issued a show-cause notice to Sajida Begum in the seizure case of 72 tola gold and foreign currency.

According to details, Collector Customs Adjudication Mirza Mubashir Baig has issued show cause notice to Sajida Begum to submit her response in the seizure case for further proceedings.

It is important to mention here that customs teams arrested Sajida Begum from Multan international airport in February when she was travelling to Dubai. Customs teams found 66 tola gold and foreign currency of $20,000 from the luggage of old woman.

The possession of recovered gold and foreign currency was claimed by 75 year old Sajida Begum Siyal during the scrutiny process of Customs at Multan Airport. Customs teams deputed at Multan airport recovered US$20,000, and Saudi Riyals from her besides six gold biscuits each weighing 10 tolas and another 12 tolas in the form of gold jewellery.

Accused Sajida Begum Siyal is a resident of Multan and also US green-card holder. During investigation of Customs she told them that his six children are settled in United States of America and she was also shifting permanently to USA.

Accused women has provided legal proof regarding his currency and gold and told that she was unaware about the declaration procedure. But Multan Customs teams seized recovered gold and currency for the violation of Customs laws. Customs Investigation and Prosecution has forwarded the seizure report to Customs Adjudication for hearing of seized gold and currency.

Collector Customs Adjudication has issued show-cause notice to accuse Sajida Begum Siyal for her response in the case.
