Multan Adjudication serves notices on two female accused smugglers

MULTAN: The Customs Adjudication, Multan, has served show-cause notices on two female accused involved in a gold and currency smuggling case worth Rs64.6million.

The Model Customs Collectorate, Multan, Investigation and Prosecution (I &P Branch), has submitted a seizure report after the completion of their investigation in the said smuggling to the Customs Adjudication on Monday for trial.

It is also important to mention here that the Multan Customs Field Intelligence has thwarted an attempt of smuggling of 14 Kilogram gold from two female passengers at Multan International Airport. Both female passengers were wearing gold bangles and bracelets which were recovered by the Anti-Smuggling Organization from their luggage. The assessed cost of the smuggled items were 89,000 Saudi Riyals. The Multan Customs has arrested both accused Haleema Riaz and Sumaira Asif Siddiqui for smuggling from the Multan International Airport to Dubai airport.

The Multan Customs has also nominated main accused Muhammad Riaz after an interrogation from the arrested female accused.
