Multan Adjudication settles 45 seizure cases of Rs80.130m

MULTAN: Collectorate of Customs Adjudication Multan Camp Office settled 45 seizure cases of worth Rs.80.130 million during August 2018-19.

According to details, Customs Adjudication decided 20 seizure cases worth Rs11.17 million after the completion of trial and only one seizure case was decided in favor of the department during the said period.

There are 44 seizure cases are pending involving amount of Rs25.560 million after end of August. There were 48 fresh seizures cases of worth Rs29.010 million submitted to deputy collector Customs Adjudication during the said period. These seizure cases were formed by the Anti-Smuggling Organization and Customs Intelligence and Investigation in different anti-smuggling activities.

Additional Collector Talib Hussain has finalized 16 seizure cases of Rs32.306 million in August after the completion of case proceedings. Two seizure cases were settled in favour of taxpayers due to lack of evidence. There were 53 seizure fresh cases of worth Rs108.046 million forwarded to adjudication department. As many as 49 seizure cases of worth Rs110.928 million are still pending before additional collector in the Customs Adjudication Multan.

Collector Customs Adjudication Asif Khan Buzdar has settled 9 seizure cases of Rs36.707 million during the month of August. There are 11 pending cases of worth Rs.313.308 million after the end of August and almost 24 new seizure cases were added in said period.

Customs Adjudication has speedy conducting hearing of pending cases but hearing of seizure cases also disturbed in the Customs Adjudication Multan due to official holidays of Eidu Azha and Independence Day.
