Multan ASO confiscates diesel, truck worth Rs 6.5m

MULTAN: The Customs Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) has seized 20,000 liters of smuggled diesel worth Rs 1.5 million and a tanker worth Rs 5 million in an operation in Sadiqabad.

The ASO Multan, following credible information received through Deputy Collector Abdul Muaeed Kanjoo, deputed officials to fail the smuggling attempt.

The ASO team intercepted an oil tanker bearing Registration No. JP-7875 near Jamaldini Wali road, Sadiqabad and asked the driver namely Pervaiz to show the documents regarding the legal import of the diesel, but he could not produce any documents.

However, the owner of the diesel namely Haji Muneer approached the customs officials to take time for presenting documents of its import.

Later, the owner also failed; therefore, custom officials confiscated the diesels valued at Rs 1.5 million and also impounded the vehicle worth Rs 5 million.
