Multan ASO foils bid to smuggle diesel worth Rs23.8m near Muzaffargarh

MULTAN: Collectorate of Customs Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) impounded 40,000 litres smuggled HSD oil being carried in an oil tanker near Muzaffargarh en route to Multan. The market value of seized diesel and vehicle is Rs23.8 million.

Sources said that credible information was passed through Collector Multan Mohammad Tahir to ASO staff regarding movement of smuggled diesel to Multan. The HSD oil along with vehicle oil tanker was detained.

It may be mentioned here that Collector Multan has expedited the anti-smuggling drive in the region. Due to which the officer and collectorate have been subject to smear campaign.

Earlier, during the month of November, Cllectorate of Customs Enforcement Multan has seized non-customs paid vehicles and miscellaneous goods worth Rs.248.5 million during various anti-smuggling actions in November 2022-23.      

Sources told Customs Today that Multan Customs Collectorate has carried out various crackdowns against smuggled goods to curtail smuggling in the jurisdiction. Multan Customs Anti-Smuggling staff has thwarted several attempts of smuggling in the Jurisdiction on the basis of credible information against smuggling.
