Multan ASO impounds 14 non-duty paid vehicles worth Rs 25.1m in July

MULTAN: The Customs Anti-Smuggling Organization Multan has seized 14 vehicles worth Rs 25.1 million during July.

Sources told Customs Today that Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) has initiated a crackdown against the non-duty paid vehicles in the Jurisdiction. The ASO launched rigorous anti-smuggling activities in the region on the directives of Collector Sarfraz Ahmad Warraich.

Sources said that Customs teams have examined more than 200 vehicles in suspect of smuggling in different parts of Multan. Most of the vehicles were seized from Dera Ghazi Khan and Sadiqabad region during the anti-smuggling activities of the ASO. During checking Customs have found various vehicles with forged documents and few vehicles were seized after chasing them during anti-smuggling activities.

Customs anti-smuggling qquad has impounded Toyota Fielder, Toyota Premio, Suzuki Sierra jeep ,Toyota Vitz, Toyota Crown ,Toyota Surf ,Toyota Land Cruiser, Mitsubishi Pajero,Toyota Civic and others during various anti-smuggling activities.

Anti-Smuggling Organization Multan seized seven vehicles worth Rs.14.1 million carrying bogus documents during inspection of the suspected vehicles. Customs team also impounded six tampered vehicles of Rs10.1 million during the inspection of the suspected vehicles in July. Anti-smuggling Organization staff have seized one non tampered vehicles of worth Rs900,000 in anti-smuggling operations of the Multan Customs during July.

The Customs Collectorate Multan have intensively focused against the movement of smuggled vehicles in Multan. Anti-Smuggling Organization of Multan intercepted total 14 vehicles of Rs25.10 million during July.
