Multan ASO impounds non-Customs paid Mitsubishi Pajero jeep

MULTAN: Customs Collectorate Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) impounded a non-customs paid Mitsubishi Pajero jeep worth Rs2 million in their action.

Sources told Customs Today, that Multan Customs took action against vehicle in Sahiwal region in pursuance of information received from their source. Customs vehicle cell staff intercepted a non-duty paid smuggled Mitsubishi Pajero jeep model 1992 bearing registration no: SA-589 Sindh  from patrolling in Sahiwal Region.

On demand driver of the vehicle produced the import documents of vehicle registration book to Customs staff for examination. Multan Customs Anti-Smuggling teams conducted verification of the registration number and they found that no vehicle exists in the vehicle registration data available on said chassis number.

The car cell has impounded the Mitsubishi Jeep under the Section 17 of the Customs Act,1969 with the approval of the competent authority. The value of seized vehicle is almost Rs2 million and further investigations are still under way.
