Multan ASO impounds vehicles and goods of worth Rs9.6m in Feb

MULTAN: The Model of Customs Collectorate Multan Anti-Smuggling Organization impounded vehicles and smuggled items of Rs9.6 million during February in their different actions.

According to details, Customs Anti-Smuggling Organization has conducted various anti-smuggling operations in the region in February. Multan Customs Anti-smuggling Organization has intercepted three vehicles of Rs2.7 million during their actions in the jurisdiction. These impounded vehicles include Toyota Passo and two different models of Suzuki Alto in February. Two seized vehicles were found non-tampered and one tampered during examination of Customs Anti-Smuggling Organization.

The Model of Customs Collectorate has enhanced the monitoring of the various routes adopted for movement of smuggled vehicles and goods to curb smuggling in the Jurisdiction. Anti-Smuggling Organization has carried out extensive patrolling in the territory to prevent smuggling and it has given them effective outcomes.

Multan Customs has detected only one seizure case of gold and foreign currency smuggling attempt in February at Multan International Airport. Customs teams have curtailed the movement of smuggled items in the region due to effective crack down.

Customs has formed 12 seizure cases of Rs11.645 million in the corresponding period of February 2015-16. Due to effective measure taken against smuggling in the region, smuggling has also been reduced to some extent.

Customs Anti-Smuggling Organization Multan is also carrying out joint operations with the cooperation’s of other law enforcement agencies in the region to curb smuggling.
