Multan ASO impounds vehicles and goods worth Rs.14.15m in April

MULTAN: The Customs Collectorate Anti-Smuggling Organization has impounded vehicles and smuggled items of Rs14.15 million in their different actions during the month of April of the on-going fiscal year 2016-17.

According to details, Multan Customs Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) has carried out various anti-smuggling operations in the jurisdiction in the month of April. Anti-Smuggling Organization has launched intensive crack down against smuggled vehicles in the region. The Customs Collectorate has enhanced monitoring of the various routes adopted for movement of smuggled vehicles and goods to curb smuggling. Anti-Smuggling Organization has increased patrolling in the territory to curb smuggling on the directions of Collector Saud Imran Ahmad and it has given fruitful results.

Multan Customs Anti-smuggling Organization has intercepted nine vehicles of different brands and models worth Rs13.40 million throughout April in their actions.

These impounded vehicles includes Toyota Mark X, Toyota Hilux Surf, Mitsubishi Intercooler Pajero, Isuzu Hino, Honda Civic, Suzuki Alto and others in April.

These seven seized vehicles were found non-tampered and two tampered during examination of Customs Anti-smuggling Organization.

Anti-Smuggling teams have reduced the movement of smuggled items in the region due to their extensive crack down. Customs has formed 11 seizure cases of Rs14.15 million in April.

Collector Saud Imran has directed Anti-smuggling Organization to intensify their anti-smuggling operation in the region to curb smuggling.
