Multan ASO seizes goods worth Rs 2.048 million during May 2015‏

MULTAN: The Anti- Smuggling Organisation has seized smuggled goods worth Rs 2.048 million in 12 seizure cases during May 2014-15.

The Anti-Smuggling Organization has conducted various operations against smugglers in different locations of Multan.

The ASO has checked more than 30 vehicles but seized only two on the suspicion of smuggling. It has also seized 900 kilograms of smuggled black pepper of Indian origin in an operation while it has seized 63 tryes and tubes worth Rs 750,000.

Smuggled foreign origin Royal Business cigarettes in the quantity of 700 bundles were also seized during the crackdown of Anti-Smuggling Organization. Five LCDs and LEDs were also seized in the operation against the smuggled goods.

Almost 400 pouches of Indian origin Pan Parag and Zafrani Patti were also seized by the Customs Anti-Smuggling Organization. The ASO teams have seized the foreign origin chewing tobacco in the crackdown in which 1,52,500 pouches were recovered.

Anti-Smuggling Organization has seized the other miscellaneous goods including tiles. Anti-Smuggling Organization has restrain the smugglers in the region through effective surveillance and by establishing new checkpoints at the sensitive area of the South Punjab.

Anti-Smuggling Organization teams are working effectively in the region to curtail smuggling by pinpointing their flaws in the jurisdiction.
