Multan ASO seizes 35,000 litres of diesel, oil tanker

MULTAN: The Customs Anti-Smuggling Organisation (ASO) has confiscated 35000 litres of high speed diesel worth Rs 1.097 million, besides impounding the oil tanker from Muzaffargarh worth Rs 2.5 million.

According to the details, the ASO staff intercepted an oil tanker bearing Registration No TKG-366 near Qureshiwala, Muzaffargarh and recovered diesel.

The officials asked the driver to show documents regarding the legal import of the item but he could not produce the same; therefore, the officials impounded the tanker with diesel under the customs laws.

The total value of the seized HSD oil is Rs 1.097 million and the value of the Hino oil tanker is about Rs 2.5 million. The officials are further investigating the case to trace main culprits.
