Multan ASO seizes 80,000 smuggled firecrackers worth Rs 120,000

MULTAN: Anti-Smuggling Organization has successfully seized the smuggled firecrackers during a raid in Multan City.

Anti-Smuggling Organization team have raided after receiving information about the smuggled firecrackers in the jurisdiction of Chowk Kumharawala.  Almost 80,000 firecrackers matchsticks were seized during the raid by the ASO raiding team.

Firecrackers and explosive material was also declared prohibited and security risk for the law and order situation in the country.

Punjab government has also enforced Section 144 in Multan city and the manufacturing of the firecrackers at the local level has been banned .The sale of the firecrackers were banned in Multan City on the holy occasion of Shab-e-Barat.

Superintendent Tanvir Ahmad Malik supervised the operation along with other members of the Anti-Smuggling Organization in Multan.  The worth of the smuggled China origin firecrackers were almost Rs 120,000. An advance information report has been lodged against the smuggled firecrackers after seizing it.

The Anti-Smuggling Organization and Customs Intelligence Multan Range have also enhanced the surveillances against the smuggled firecrackers in South Punjab.

Customs Intelligence and Investigation Multan Range along with Anti-Smuggling Organization have devised mutual cooperation for the effective crackdown against the smuggled fireworks.
