Multan ASO seizes non-customs paid vehicles, goods worth Rs 31.71m in Q1

MULTAN: The Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) of the Multan Customs Collectorate has seized non-customs paid vehicles and goods worth Rs 31.71 million during the first three months of the fiscal year 2016-17.

Sources told Customs Today that the ASO carried various anti-smuggling operations in the region on the directives of Collector Sarfraz Ahmad Warriach. The ASO teams also formed 29 cases against smugglers.

Sources said that customs Anti-Smuggling Organization car cell impounded 15 vehicles during the massive crackdown against smuggled vehicles in their jurisdiction during the said period. The Anti-Smuggling Organization of Customs Collectorate Multan has seized smuggled goods and vehicles of worth Rs.31.71 million in the various anti-smuggling activities during first three month of the fiscal year 2016-17.

Anti-Smuggling Organization impounded  vehicles of different models and designs including Toyota Vitz, Suzuki Jimmy, Toyota Premio, Toyota Corolla Indus ,Mitsubishi Pajero ,Suzuki Pick Up, Toyota Fielder, Toyota Vitz, Corolla GLI others. The value of the seized non-duty paid impounded vehicles are almost Rs.25.4 million for the duration of July, August and September.  During various actions of Anti-Smuggling Organization seized vehicles were tampered and non-customs paid.

Anti-Smuggling Organization has conducted their anti-smuggling operations in three widely range districts including Multan, Dera Ghazi Khan and Sadiqabad. Anti-Smuggling Organization is making its full efforts to curb smuggling in the region and for this purpose they are using all available resources to curb smuggling in the region.
