Multan ASO seizes six vehicles worth Rs9.7m during January

MULTAN: The Anti-Smuggling Organization of Multan Customs has seized six  various non-customs paid  vehicles of worth Rs.9.7 million in anti-smuggling actions during the month of January of fiscal year 2016-17.

The Model Customs Collectorate Multan has continued their crackdown against the non –customs paid vehicles in their jurisdiction. Anti-Smuggling Organization Multan has started crackdown against smuggled vehicles in the region on the clear direction of Collector Sarfraz Ahmad Warraich.

The Anti-Smuggling Organization of Multan Customs has done crackdown against non-duty paid vehicles in the region without any discrimination. The anti-smuggling squad has intercepted these vehicles from various routes of the jurisdiction and asked the driver to produce the legal documents to prove legal possession.

After failing to produce the legal document, Anti-Smuggling Organization vehicle cell has impounded six various foreign origin vehicles including Hino Ranger truck, Toyota Axio ,Toyota Corolla X, Vitz, Corolla G in their crackdown  for the duration of January. Two vehicles out of these seized vehicles were tampered and remaining were non-customs duty paid.

The Customs Collectorate Multan has enhanced the surveillance of the sensitive routes including Dera Ghazi Khan, Rajanpur and Koh- e- Suleman which were often adopted by smugglers for transportation of their smuggled goods and vehicles. Anti-Smuggling Organization has seized all  six foreign vehicles under the Customs Act 1969.
