Multan ASO seizes smuggled goods, vehicles worth Rs 32.08m during June

‏MULTAN: The Anti-Smuggling Organisation (ASO) of Customs Collectorate Multan has seized smuggled goods and vehicles of worth Rs 32.08 million in various anti-smuggling activities during the month of June.

The Anti-Smuggling Organisation has formed 16 seizure cases in different actions during the month of June. The ASO teams seized 14 foreign origin smuggled /non customs paid vehicles from its jurisdiction during the month.

The seized vehicle includes Toyota Land Cruiser, Toyota Corolla, Toyota Hiace Van, Nissan Sunny, Suzuki Jimmy jeep, Suzuki Toyota Alto, Toyota Vitz, Toyota Corolla X, Toyota Fielder and others.  The value of the seized non-duty paid imported vehicles is worth almost Rs 30 million during June.

The Anti-Smuggling Organization of Customs Multan has seized one expansive vehicle of Toyota Land Cruiser worth Rs 15 million in an action in Multan city. The seized Land Cruiser model was 2015.  During action of Anti-Smuggling Organization four seized vehicles were tampered and others were found non–tampered and non-customs paid.

Anti-Smuggling Organization conducted majority of anti-smuggling operations in three districts including Multan, Dera Ghazi Khan and Sadiqabad.

Customs Collectorate Multan has seized Rani float juices crates, ball bearing , spark plugs, automatic air freshener and other miscellaneous goods during their actions.The worth of the seized miscellaneous goods is also more than Rs 2 million during their anti-smuggling activities. The Customs Collectorate Multan has forwarded several seizure cases to Customs Adjudication after completion of their interrogation for their legal proceedings.

Anti-smuggling organization is making its all out efforts to curb smuggling in the region .Two employees of the Anti-Smuggling Organization has also lost their lives in the road accident while taking action against the suspected goods in the region of Dera Ghazi Khan.

The Customs Collectorate is taking stern action against smugglers without any discrimination to curb smuggling from the jurisdiction. Multan customs have sucessfully seized the various smuggled vehicles and goods of valuing  Rs32.08 million due to effective enforcement in the region during the month of June .

Collector Multan Sarfraz Ahmad Warraich have directed anti-smuggling squad to remain vigilant over the movement of smuggled goods and non-customs paid vehicles in the region.
