Multan ASO seizes smuggled items worth Rs190m near Sakhi Sarwar

MULTAN: Collectorate of Customs Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) seized smuggled items valuing around Rs 190 million including vehicles under customs act 1969.

Sources told Customs Today that Collector Muneeza Majeed received credible information about some smuggling attempts on 17.11.2020. She directed anti-smuggling squads to enhance vigilance on the suspected routes to thwart any attempt of smuggling.

The anti-smuggling squad intercepted four trucks loaded and recovered heavy quantity of smuggled tyres, milk powder, chocolates, Chinese salt, almonds, pistachio, Cumin (Zeera) and plastic bags in Sakhi Sarwar, Dera Ghazi Khan and Multan area.

The smuggled items valuing around Rs 190 million including the vehicles were seized under customs act 1969 and further investigations were still in progress till the filing of this report.
