MULTAN: Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) has seized two smuggled vehicles of Rs 2.2 million with fake documents during general hold up.
Sources told Customs Today that a Toyota Hiace van was intercepted by the ASO team after receiving credible information that driver of above said vehicle is driving a van without legal documents. During checking, ASO team verified vehicle’s documents. During checking process it was proved that the documents of vehicle is forge and bogus. Therefore, the concerned authority seized the van under the customs act 1696 and registered a case against the drivers. The value of the seized van is estimated Rs 1.2 million.
On the other hand, ASO team also seized a Suzuki Jimny jeep during routine road checking. The team intercepted a jeep and a disparity between the documents and number plate of the jeep had been discovered during investigating the documents. The ASO team, therefore, seized the jeep on suspicion of smuggling under the customs act 1696. The market value of the jeep is Rs 1 million.
