Multan Customs Adjudication decides 43 cases in August

MULTAN: The Collectorate of Adjudication Customs decided 43 various seizure cases worth Rs 41.198 million during August 2016.

According to the details, the Multan Customs Adjudication decided 43 seizure cases formed by Anti- Smuggling Organisation (ASO) and Customs Intelligence and Investigation during the said period.

Deputy Collector Farhat Ali decided 29 seizure case involving Rs 15.598 million. He settled 27 various cases in favour of customs department, while two cases were decided in favour of taxpayer.

The cases concluded by Additional Collector Fayaz Ahmad in August were 14 and all verdicts issued in favour of the department. The additional collector did not decide a single case in favour of taxpayers.

The Multan Customs Intelligence and ASO forwarded 23 fresh seizure cases involving Rs 13.356 million to the court of Deputy Collector Farhat Ali for legal proceeding during August 2016.

Additional Collector Fayaz Ahmad received 11 cases worth Rs 18 million for hearing during the said period.

Almost 64 seizure cases worth Rs۔98.563 million are under trial before the Customs Adjudication Multan collector, additional collector and deputy collector. However, 33 seizure cases worth Rs 54.22 million are pending with the additional collector.
