MULTAN: A joint operation by the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF), Customs Enforcement, and Airport Security Force (ASF) successfully thwarted an attempt to smuggle cocaine at Multan International Airport. Authorities recovered dozens of cocaine-filled capsules from a foreign passenger.
The arrested individual, identified as an Angolan national, was detained after exhibiting suspicious behavior. Upon further inspection, officials discovered the passenger had ingested the capsules in an attempt to smuggle them into the country.
A case has been registered under the Anti-Narcotics Act, and the suspect is currently in custody. Medical procedures are underway to extract the capsules, with the exact quantity and street value of the cocaine being assessed.
An ANF spokesperson confirmed that investigations are ongoing to determine the suspect’s connections to international drug trafficking networks. Authorities are probing the possibility of the involvement of other operatives, both locally and internationally.
This operation is part of a broader effort by law enforcement agencies to curb drug smuggling across the country. Officials reiterated their commitment to taking strict action against individuals involved in such illegal activities.
